I've been meaning to check this out since I first heard about it. Sounds as good as I hoped. You've beaten me to it! So many openings, so little time on my beat of SE22/SE5/SE15. Interesting that they've changed the name from the Crooked Well (which wasn't bad on a good day). Oldies will know that it was The Kerfield before it was The Crooked Well.
I know exactly what you mean, I’ve got a litany of reviews to write because of it! I’d absolutely no idea it had reverted to the name, I’ve found no mention of that fact anywhere, so thank you so much for pointing that out. Can you tell I’m still a baby Londoner?
I'm guessing it changed names around mid-noughties when it went gastropub. Was always a popular pub but overshadowed by the Grove House Tavern on Camberwell Grove.
Mainly playing catch-up. New rotisserie place in SE22 Norberts and at some point soon Cafe Mondo, but I’ve held back so far as there’s a conflict of interest as my daughter works there!

I’m keen to read your next review – any teasers? 👀

Absolutely LOVED Cafe Mondo, I respect the journalistic integrity. Their MSG martini is absolutely inspired.
